I find it impossible to believe some of the commentaries about Cesc's alleged, yes it is still alleged in case you are wondering, spitting at, around, or somewhere in the same post code as an opposition assistant coach or whatever. There have been a number of high profile (i.e. loud-mouth) commentators who have said that spitting is the worst thing that an opponent can do. They seriously need to up their medication if they truly believe it. Of course it is possible that some of them are just saying something for the sake of saying something, so here's a motto for them. If you have nothing to say then say nothing, or to misquote a favourite truism, it is better to keep your mouth shut and have people suspect you are a fool, than to open it and remove all doubt.
I suspect they are the same people who leapt to the defence of the poor misunderstood soul who nearly took Eduardo's foot off last season. How the hell can spitting be worse than that? These fools need to have their care in the community re-assessed, because it certainly ain't working. And while I'm foaming at the mouth on the subject, what on earth are Hull hoping to achieve by continuing this vendetta. They couldn't get their stories straight in a reasonable time frame so they were given longer. Huh? Why would you need to have an extension to sort out something like that? You either saw something or you didn't. There has to be a suspicion that they are trying to figure out just what they did see and whilst you might think they are trying to 'agree' on what they saw, I couldn't possibly comment. Either way, and I don't suppose it means a jot to them, but before the match I and many other Gooners would have given them some respect for the way they beat us earlier in the season. Not any more.
So Ade's made a strong recovery and is now OK to play for his country. And has the clubs blessing to do so. Certainly Arsene has said he would have been available to play for the club this weekend anyway, but that isn't the same as saying he would have played. If I were more cynical I might think that his recent injuries are more to do with convenience rather than any hamstring. It seems that a number of players on their way out in the past have picked up niggling injuries and thus been out of contention for playing. Don't know if this is Le Profs none too subtle hint that services can be dispensed with, but maybe a certain Italian club has seen which way the wind is blowing. Frankly he had a year to put to bed the malarkey from last year and he hasn't nearly done it so far. 35 million? In a heartbeat.
Having listened to Rosicky's interview, I am going to stop taking the mick. I think I decided that around the same time that he explained his tendon had come off the bone behind his knee. Eeyoo! I really hope he makes it back and returns to his peak, I think he is a great player and can make things happen. Plus he's got a heck of a shot on him and I'm a sucker for the spectacular.
Finally the Mirror have admitted that their quotes from Big Nik were a tad inaccurate and are mortified that they may have occasioned upset. What's more they intend to spread their apology just as wide across the Internet as their original 'quotes'. Do they heck. I would have applauded their apology if I thought they had made an honest mistake.
