OK, I apologise for mentioning Cashley twice running, but it is really starting to get to me. It takes a lot to get me mad, but disloyalty will pretty much do it every time. Reports of Arsenal wanting a bunch more than the buyout supposedly agreed are about right as far as I am concerned. Cole was disloyal and it seems like Arsenal want to give him a taste of his own medecine. If it was written into the contract, then I don't suppose Arsenal have a leg to stand on, if not, then why smooth the path for the money-grabber? Interesting how it's only Chavski who want him now, 'course it could be because they are the only ones who can afford his wage demands. Shame he has to go to a rival though. Championship team would have been better.
Thing is, everyone is saying how he is the best left back in the world. Not so sure myself. He certainly plays to the top of his capabilities in the Arsenal setup which suits him down to the ground. Interesting how little effect he had going forward in the WC as the ball more often than not went inside, not back to him on the wing. Apart from a few notable defensive actions, what else was there? Maybe West London won't see the best of him. What I do know is we have to sort it quickly now so we can get a replacement bought before the deadline. Let's not go down to the wire again huh?
On a much better note, Bergy's testimonial was a joy to watch. Well the second half anyway. So many memories playing in the red and white again, and a few surprises. Like where did the Grimster learn to pass like that, and is Overmars still available? Loved it when a certain be-specced type was brought down, would have been a travesty for him to score, and loved it that Kanooo (kinda) scored, I always liked him. All in all a great event, sensational stadium. Now what about a couple of defenders and a defensive MF Mr Wenger sir?
