"It's b******t," Hill-Wood elaborated. "I don't want to run Chelsea down, but one has to concede Manchester United and Liverpool are probably the biggest names in UK football and probably throughout the world.
"Our fanbase probably started in the 1930s and it's been handed down from father to son and so forth. It takes 100 years to build and about 100 minutes to destroy. Money is irrelevant to history and how big your club is."
Very not old tie, nice one Peter!
Having been away from reasonable Internet access for two weeks, I have been unable to comment on our Prem games during that period, nice results, but they were against relegation candidates. Oh how sweet that is to say, I'm still grinning about that even now
Much more impressive was our win against Sevilla, sure we rode our luck at times, but this year the luck is with us and that's what you need to win big. Le Prof thinks everything is up for grabs and although I am cautious about that sort of talk, he did say we would go a season unbeaten and everyone laughed then so titter ye not, who's to say he is wrong? Still a bit concerned about our squad as a whole but I guess we will find out about our strength in depth at the same time as the Barcodes. A big win would be nice but any win is fine by me.
Now I have consistently supported Ade, but even I have been surprised by the style he has recently shown in scoring some absolute blinders. Guess he was watching and learning from TH14, but those goals were a lot about natural ability and although he misses some sitters, if he continues at this rate who knows where it could end.
Continuing to like Eduardo, he's getting real close to being right up to speed and if that doesn't scare the opposition then they aren't paying attention. Now I realise that Cesc probably can't keep up his goalscoring, but even with a bit of a slack period he's looking at 20-30 gaols this year. I don't recall feeling quite so optimistic, but the crunch will be against the teams in the top half. Some good away wins and the confidence will be sky-high. If only we could stop trying to walk the ball into the net (that was a joke for the ironically-challenged).
Apparently not only have we not collapsed without Thierry, but we continue to actually make more money than we need to to pay for the millstone that is the Emirates. Funny how people who know nothing about the club with copy and paste opinions have got it wrong again. Actually I am happier now that we don't need a further injection from any outside investment and I can only hope Double D comes out and admits as much for the good of his reputation. Funny how Silent Stan's holding is looking more important now. I think the big questions will be answered if Red and White increase their stake above the magic 29.9 percent figure as Dein has consistently denied he is involved in a takeover. If that turns out to be untrue he has burned his bridges as far as I am concerned.
Still can't quite understand why everyone is getting so het up about the Russian chap getting all legal on someone who has been less than complementary about him. Even the nicest people in the world resort to law when they conclude that what someone has said will effect their future standing. Let's be clear I'm not saying he is squeaky clean, but equally defending your reputation doesn't mean that there's a bunch of skeletons in the cupboard. OK, probably not the best phrase to use in this case, but you get my drift.
Finally, any other ATVO subscribers getting annoyed with their cut-aways during interviews which show the subjects obviously saying something different to the voice track? For goodness' sake, do some 'noddies' or quick fades, almost anything is better than what they are doing at the moment. Especially if they are going to be producing the satellite delivered Arsenal TV channel slated for next year.
